Do's: -If they allow touch, hold them -Breathing technique, 5sec in/5sec out (they might think they're breathing slowly & they aren't => hyperventilate) -Help distract; anything they like -Food & water DON'T: -Touch if not OK -Say CALM DOWN (they're trying!)

Tomorrow I am returning to work after 8 days of leave. I am optimistic about the path forward dealing with my grief and trauma. And the sun is shining... hence the selfie. Find your little piece of sun whenever possible.

still such a massive stigma around Mental Health along with people who think that those who have mental health issues will be obvious to them -don’t presume just because someone smiles & make polite conversation they are fine -massive misconception

PTSD is becoming more common amongst the police and other emergency services. Its a sad sad time we live in when we fear for our protectors. You are all so brave. No officer should patrol alone. The cuts have a lot to answer for.

PTSD is scary & hard to get through. I'm doing better but today I came across a major trigger that took me right back. It was terrifying. I was in public & I had to just try & hold it together.
