It's so ironic you say that at a time when news feeds are being saturated by cacophonous cries of VCs turning founders into employees.

Does anyone else finish every major round of edits by listening to the entire manuscript with a text to speech program? It catches typos every single time. Also, if a scene is still exciting while being read in a monotone robot voice, I know it’s working.

Since I just linked someone else, this is the Beat Sheet that I use for drafting. There's lots of room for pantsing if you only fill out the plot points, but at least you know where you're pantsing to!

I wrote a post after being inspired by this past week and reflecting on my journey that sometimes feels never ending. It doesn't have a grand ending, but it's just as valuable to me & I hope you'll give it a read 🧡🎃👻🍂

Because I miss mentoring , I'll do a critique of the first 30 pages of an MG or YA that didn't get in. Tweet me your pitches by 12pm MST on 10/13 and I'll pick one by Monday. 😎

You know I’m thrilled about something when it renders me speechless 😶 for days, I didn’t have the words to address being selected as a mentee. All I got is... THANK YOU to for seeing the good in my book & choosing to work with me on the not-so-good ♥️

How are all the mentees holding up? Are we feeling good? Panicking? Drinking?

Doing a quick run through/edit of the book that got zero requests ;) before I submit it to a publisher and have to say I'm struck by how much I love this book. When you love your work, there's no such thing as failing.

Ok, it needs a lot of work, but as I revise I'm falling back in love w/ my sub that didn't get selected. I'll polish it up & it WILL be published someday. Tonight I made a sappy aesthetic to remind me of the glittery, tropey romance that I 💙 so much in this story.

Also a reminder that I have loads of homework on my site that I used with all eight of my mentees. You can still do the work, even if you didn't get a mentor to do it with.
