Your school doesn't want to "help students succeed in life" if you don't believe should be on an equal footing with all other subject areas. Lifelong health is a worthy educational outcome. Maintain high expectations, support teacher development, be informed. Don't @ me.

The first person that tells me, "Coach Gelardi we turned the gymnasium into classrooms." My response will be, "The gymnasium has always been a classroom." then walk away.

Tiny lil' vent: Hearing of schools cutting . When you cut PE, you rob young people of the opportunity to live their best lives. Also, some of those teachers might be the best educators in your building. I thought you said you were in this because you cared about kids?

Please remember.. If you aren't "techy" or using programs like Flipgrid, Peardeck, Jamboard, Nearpod, it's OK! Don't feel bad or compare yourself to others. Instead, ask yourself: Are you doing your best? Are Ss learning/engaged? Are lessons purposeful/relevant? BE YOU

Today in weird summer adventures I'm cutting composition notebooks in half. Creative or cathartic? Going to use these as gratitude journals for my Ss as we start the fall.

Wish that I had kept this in mind in the spring when it felt like - no matter how hard I worked - I couldn’t get a win. Sharing it here in case any of my fellow folk need to hear it before stepping into a new reality this fall. 🙌❤️💪
