20:01 at last week. 19:59 this week. Still not up to pace, but happier to be 1 second under 20 minutes than 1 second over.

So today is my 250th involvement with run number #216 & volunteered #34 times. Amazed that nearly 5 years later still get same buzz from it & met & made many good friends along the way.

What a superstar! Dame Kelly Holmes joined us on our this morning. A motivational speech at the start and if a double Olympic Gold medal winner can't inspire you to a PB then nothing can! Thank you for running round to high five us.

Love the sense of community that comes through in Gailโ€™s story. Exercising as part of a group can be a great motivator.

Youngest son has learnt the art of playing down his performance. He told me he hadn't enjoyed the run and thought he was around 28 mins. He got a new PB at 25:01!

Listening to ep21 โ€˜parkrun specialโ€™ podcast from June 2010 (Iโ€™m a bit behind - theyโ€™re now on ep505). Back then there were just 40 UK locations. Today there are 656. Such an astonishingly simple, inclusive - and for many people life-changing - success story

Having completed the Coach to 5k programme last week, I took the plunge and did my first Park Run this morning . Great set up at the Forest and thoroughly enjoyed the event. Will be back next week to improve on my first run time of 30mins 52secs.
