Would prefer to be at Bluesfest but a quick couple of fishing before the storm will do.

Had to run from the bus to daycare to home (while holding a toddler) in too close for comfort thunder and lighting. 😫

I dissented in the City of Ottawa Committee budget today. Widening roads, underbudgeting on snow clearing, and 10 years of frozen parking rates (while transit fares have increased 75%) is not something I could support.

My word people. The roads in Ottawa are crappy because of the freeze-thaw cycle this year and the fact we’ve had a shit ton of snow! Give the crews a break will you? They are doing the best they can with the resources they have.

Cold in your house? Be sure to dig out your furnace inlet and exhausts. Need that O2 for combustion, right SNC2D/SCH3U? ❄️

We are now in a Winter Storm Warning with 15-25 cm of snow expected, freezing rain warning also still in effect. Freezing rain expected to last a ‘few hours’. As of 9:30 this morning, we are at 13 cm. of snow.

Apologies to the 10 drivers who were charged on Spratt Rd this afternoon. In this weather & 3 schools & 1000’s of kids....there is no tolerance for bad decisions when behind a 3000+lb missile on wheels.

Despite crew’s effort, rapidly accumulating and blowing snow quickly erases all plowing efforts. 11pm: Elgin Street deserted. Estimated 15cm has fallen. The walk/drive to work tmrw morning is going to be treacherous.

Pretty quiet in today...loads of buses, sidewalks and most bike lanes not well cleared (some were very cleared). Very spotty. Take your time and be safe!

You know it’s bad when the plow is in the ditch (on Autoroute 5 near the IGA in Farm Point)
