Lately, I’ve been reading posts by MDs saying they have to stop prescribing for . Reason? Because opioids have side effects (pssst, all meds do). If opioids are reducing pain & the pt isn’t complaining of side effects...LEAVE YOUR PTS ALONE!

This sick & twisted view that pts on long-term MUST be tapered is truly one I don’t understand. If a pt is benefiting from their meds, why the federal case over it? And PLEEEEASE don’t give the lame-o excuse, “Well, opioids have side effects”. ALL MEDS DO!

Portugal decriminalized all drugs in 2001. It saw a 75% drop in its population of heroin addicts by 2015. Now? Portugal has the lowest OD rate in Europe. US refuses to decriminalize drugs. Result? OD/death rate @ a record high!
