we really need to get this message out to youth baseball/ softball. no real authority to pause games when lightning near by, we must play these games. safety last in real life! here is example took 20 min to convince people to stop these games! one team had to forfeit!

Not greatest video. Can smell burning and dirt in air. Winds were an easy 75 mph possibly 80 at times as I pulled into driveway. DON'T BE DRIVING IF U DON'T HAVE TO!

Heat index can misrepresent heat stress risk under certain conditions. In some cases the heat index is high, but winds/clouds keep WBGT heat stress lower (white circle). In other places where heat index is lower, the actual heat stress can be HIGH (black circle)

Severe tstorms are expected tonight across much of the area. Most of the storms will occur after sunset. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats.

[1:35 PM] Isol'd T'storms are developing across portions of NE OK. Additional development is possible across NE OK and NW AR this afternoon and overnight. Some of these storms could be strong with the main threats being gusty winds, small hail, and brief downpours.

Here's another shot of the large tornado just north of Custer City, OK from Chris McBee. As of 9:55PM, the tornado threat is very low, however winds of 70 to 80 will be common with this line of storms heading toward OKC.

We're still counting, but so far this year there have been 115 tornadoes in Oklahoma. That ranks #3 behind 2011 (119) and 1999 (145). In May alone we had 85 tornadoes in the state, which ranks #3 behind 1999 (90) and 2010 (91).
