I've got this extra okra, and I've tried disastrously to make fried okra before, but I've just discovered I was missing a key step in the process.

Okra can be used as a pickled vegetable, or an ingredient in soups, stews and side dishes. Fried okra is my favorite! What’s yours?

I keep returning to gaze at the okra page in the Baker Creek catalogue. I grew Jing Orange in NC. It was beyond fabulous!! Highly decorative and delicious. I wonder if anyone has successfully grown okra in Maine.

Let’s talk nutrients. This guy is high in vitamins A, C, E, K, and B6. It also has folate, calcium, iron, zinc, and magnesium. You can’t go wron with either of them. #

is no punk either. While not & essential, it is high in hydrophilic fiber from its high mucilage. So it’s going to keep you full & provide much of those same Chia benefits. Okra can help move excess cholesterol out of u, improve vision & help protect your skin.

So what’s the nuts & granola of this: vs . Chia-essential hydrophilic food. It can absorb 12 times it’s weight (that’s full.) Water and electrolytes are in ur body longer. It’s also super charged w omega-3’s, anti oxidants, fiber, iron, magnesium, calcium and potassium

Okra is a magical vegetable whose texture varies dramatically depending on how it's cooked. If you like it gooey and glutinous, add it to an African-style stew, if you prefer it in whole chunks, try it in a classic American gumbo. Have you cooked with before? ✨🌿💚
