As an aside, I'd love to hear stand up and question Jacinda in .... her forthrightness and no nonsense approach would highlight the PM's word soup waffling so well.

3rd (final) reading asserts the Bill is needed because of "the risk posed". Obviously the risk is tiny & this is draconian legislation.

3rd (final) reading Priyanca Radhakrishnan of & FADT Cttee, is 3rd speaker. Says what make NZers safe is rehabilitation. NO MP has canvassed the world approaches to returning fighters. Nor MoJ! As NZ submitters asked. 👎

Listening to Parliament LIve, one does have to wonder if National MP's actually check their own record before asking their questions. So many times they give Govt MP's the chance to point out how terribly National managed things like housing, justice etc.

3rd (final) reading : National wants extra police powers beyond the Bill, 7 of them but specifically now to detain people longer at NZ border. Parl. debate is over draconian vs. more draconian. NO PARTY opposes Bill, not !

National REALLY hating the fact the Govt is finally doing something about fixing our roads, Chris BishopMP seems terribly upset by it, despite having promised Hutt Residents he will do everything possible to see an upgrade our roads.

NZ First MP is in PM ’s bad books after asking her to table a document of infrastructure projects to be started this term when she clearly didn’t want to do so! 🤣

3rd (final) reading "Every terrorist is a threat to humanity." Says Parliament's duty is to do all they can. [There's no proportionality here.]

3rd (final) reading Vote on the Bill: 63 support = LAB+NZ FIRST+GREENS 56 = NAT+J-L Ross (ACT didn't vote.) Royal assent tomorrow? Bill passes into law on day following Royal assent, so presumably either tomorrow or Saturday. [My view: 🤮]

3rd (final) reading (L) was 14th & final speaker. Short speech. Basically accused of grandstanding. Probably fair but not enlightening. [Soz I missed the screenshot.]
