Solidarity and love to nurses striking today. My life has been saved many times by a nurse. Pay them what they're worth. Make working conditions safe. Value them. They are angels.

These are just the basic cares YOUR NURSES need to complete before the end of their shift. This doesn’t include the time it takes to create therapeutic relationships, providing emotional support.. The list goes on. & notes definitely do not take 5 mins 🙄😭

This morning Nurses go on strike, please know they do this is for us NZ. Patients are at risk through low staffing and inadequate resourcing far too often. Graduate Nurses get very low salaries, often needing other part-time work to make ends meet.

My sister paid (interest loan) to train as a nurse in NZ (subsidised by state). Was at Middlemore for 5yrs on NZ wages before giving up & going to NHS to pay off her loan. 10yrs later she wants to come home, but is in Oz earning more than 2x what NZ offers.

I strongly support the call by for mandatory staffing standards for aged care facilities. Staffing standards must promote & enable workers, to ensure the dignity of our elderly New Zealanders. They are undervalued and deserve more including respect.

Passed a group of women with Toot for Nurses signs but I was walking on the footpath so I said ‘toot toot’ instead and they still cheered. Nurses are just awesome like that.

My wife's a nurse & earns way less than the DHB's misleading figures. But it's not just about money; don't they deserve a safe & supportive work environment? They tirelessly care for your loved ones. Let's show them *we* care too by giving our support.

I support New Zealand Nurses who are striking to be appropriately recognised for the work they do. They have been ignored for the last decade. Listen to what they have to say.

Heard another awful experience of short staffing today from one of my colleagues. Yes the hurt my wallet, Its not an overnight fix, but standing up for my colleagues to advocate safe staffing is totally worth it. .
