Just left . Incredibly heartbreaking. Very scared for everyone there. Praying the levees hold. Here is a video from this morning from my friends neighborhood.

Here is the concern for ... The current forecast level of the Mississippi River is 19 feet. The levees protect up to 20 feet. New Orleans sits below the height of the Mississippi River. Very little wiggle room before there are BIG issues in the Big Easy.

They normally fill pints, but with the storm coming, and no official sandbagging operations in the city, local bar Mid-City Yacht Club started filling sandbags for neighbors, this area has flooded in recent downpours.

20 minutes into a Saturday shower in & the streets are flooding. Weatherman: it's another 100 year storm. Me: didn't we have one of those just 2 weeks ago?

A strong thunderstorm has developed right over metro and is dumping torrential rainfall. Radar estimates of 4 inch per hour rainfall rates in this storm which may lead to localized flooding. USE CAUTION if traveling in these areas for the next hour.
