MUST-SEE VIDEO! Romulus McNeill was walking out of the Academy for Technology and Academics located near Conway and was struck by lightning! As you would imagine, it freaked him out. Thankfully, he's ok! (After one take at normal speed, I slowed the video down)

Two years ago today, many of us witnessed one of the most spectacular sights we'd ever seen. The Great American Solar Eclipse crossed the U.S. To this day, I still get emotional when I think about what I saw! This is video of totality from Georgetown, S.C.

If you saw the crazy shelf clouds tonight they are common with strong outflow into warm and humid air masses like we had today. Here's how they form & this picture is from Ft Mill tonight.

I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a tropical storm on its "recurve" out to sea, as it favorably couples with an incoming front

⚡⚡This happened on Sunday in Erica Coles front yeard in Hudson, NC. Even though there was sunshine where she was. There was also a nearby thunderstorm and it produced this powerfull lightning strike. This is what we call a "bolt from the blue".

Early next week, our radar (KRAX) will be upgraded to include a 0.2° supplemental low-elevation angle. This will help our forecasters along with other central users to view weather and other phenomena at lower levels of the atmosphere. More info:
