Looking back even into the late 1800s it seems apparent that the favored climo window for getting a big winter storm during a Nino is late Jan thru early Mar in the Carolinas. The early Dec storm is usually gravy for snow lovers & this yr probably won't be a one hit wonder

Here's the 7 day for the area. Mild conditions to start the week before a cold front ushers in cooler air on Tuesday. It'll remain dry until the next rain event increases our shower chances Thursday into Friday. Next weekend looks to be seasonal & sunny

It’s been a dreary, wet, rainy, damp, and cold day in the High Country. Thankful that I can see grass again, however. We have been hovering around 41° at my house in Willow Valley (Valle Crucis). How’s the weather in your neck of the woods? ( 😉)

Taking a look around the week of Christmas, signals are looking mild. Second image I've outlined what looks to be the main storm track with storm systems riding up west of the Carolina's after this week.
