Ecto (Elixir data mapping lib) provides you with two syntaxes for composing SQL queries: Keyword and Macro. I prefer Keyword syntax, it's less verbose and easier to read. Whatever syntax you choose stick with it and consistently use it through codebase

Ok, thanks to 's awesome decompiler package, I've figured this out. Each reduction corresponds to a function call or return, but a single function call can have any number of BEAM VM instructions in it, meaning they take a variable amount of time!

When composing functions in Elixir, it's sometimes necessary to create new anonymous function by using capture operator to massage data into the appropriate shape before continuing with a new pipe.

Would it be a controversial opinion to think that all functions in your application should have a known purpose at compile time? Basically, they should either be clearly called in your app, or be part of a behaviour implementation.

The most challenging part is that you have to unlearn most of what you knew.

Some things in programming can be challenging when you start learning them, then becomes enjoyable afterwards , if you get to understand what's happening. This is my experience with processes in elixir .
