Yesterday was a day of persistent rain, and no chance of a view from the summit, but Sgurr a' Mhaoraich was still worth the afternoon climb

Cracking sociable trot in the late evening sun with Sam around the six east Glenshee . Standing at Tolmount at 7:15pm felt a veeerrry long way from the car (especially given our collective tumbling abilities...!).

Yup more rain.. welcome to summer in Scotland! ☔️☔️Yesterday saw strong gusts and torrential conditions, clag and bog heading to Broad Cairn from Glen Doll up Bachnagairn. I’d love my waterproofs to be just that!! Another day of wringing out my bra!! 😂☔️😩⛰

Snow capped Shiel Ridge viewed from the Three Brothers. Who'd have thought the best winter walking day of the season would be the May bank holiday!

Beinn a' Chaorainn and Beinn Teallach yesterday. Good reverse views over to Creag Meagaidh and The Window. Nice underfoot after this dry spell. Watched some ptarmigan squabbling. And spied a few more tasty looking for my list !

The three of Beinn a’Ghlo today, including the mouthful Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain. Unfortunately no hairy hill dog in tow due to vets orders ☹️ Had the idea of taking a Greggs up though, which might become a regular occurrence. Weather: changeable.

It's ! Gus Pattullo shared this amazing image of him and his dog Hamish on the summit of Ciste Dhubh in 'Started off sunny then had a snow shower on the way across from the Corbett and then it all cleared as I neared the summit.'

A few from Thursday evening on the hills to the east of the Glenshee Ski Centre. Letting the rain pass and heading onto the hills late was definitely the way to go!

Beinn a’ Bhuird yesterday. Super hill with a massive, tundra plateau & epic views. Saw dotterel, ptarmigan & cuckoo. Excepting the squidgy but short temporary diversion, great paths.

This is a golden opportunity for Scotland to finally get a grip on the hunting roads that continue to expand further into our uplands (inc , and special landscapes) without the need for planning permission. It’s time for change on .
