It’s literally my paid job to inform exploitative bosses that unpaid work and unpaid internships are illegal 99% of the time. Unless it’s part of formal study (tafe/uni) or in a limited capacity to demonstrate a skill (1 3-hour trial) all work is PAID work. Fuck off,

Oi shareholders - If your business model is so shit that you can only survive if an entire generation agrees to work for free for you then maybe you ought to look at sacking your management?

“In January 2017 Foodco entered into a voluntary partnership with the office of the fair work ombudsman by way of a proactive compliance deed." More like proactively seeking immunity from the inevitable fallout caused by their dirty practices!

I wish I had enough disposable income to buy mediocre overpriced coffee and packet muffins in shopping malls to be able to say that I was going to stop going there but fuck anyway.

I did a 9hr unpaid trial at at Toombul as a 14yo before I thankfully got a job at the Maccas there. MB wouldn’t even give me free water to drink (I forgot to BYO a water bottle) and made me buy one of their overpriced Mt Franklins. 1/2

Imagine being a franchisee this morning. Nothing like investing big $$$, & then watching as the GM blows the brands' business reputation to pieces.

Imagine sinking all of your savings into a franchise & then next week some daft fucking unit in the home office comes out with 'stupid entitled millennials should get over wanting to be paid' and then you have 10,000 angry millenials going "fuck you muffin guys"

Plz don't boycott stores as they are majority owned by franchisees aka small business owners. If you want to protest this leech, email FoodCo HO to lobby for her sacking - don't punish struggling businesses because of this clowns outdated views

I know, right‽ I mean, I’m sure my landlord, utility companies & local grocery store should be happy to supply me with free housing, electricity & food... otherwise they’re just ‘entitled’ and have an ‘inflated’ sense of self importance.

Who is more "entitled"? Millennials, who don't want to work for free? Or, retirees that expect free money for franking credits?

As the proud father of 2 hard-working, aware millennials, I will never go near Muffin Break. I worked my way through uni as a barman 40 yeas ago, & was paid for every shift. I expect nothing less for the next gen. We must treat people decently, even in commerce.

The Muffin Break in Penrith Plaza is known for always having “staff wanted” signs. My friend did a two week trial for free then wasn’t hired so they could “keep looking”, as it appears they do this often to avoid paying anyone.

Everyone is up in arms about Millenials expected to provide FREE LABOUR at but tens of thousands of unemployed are forced to "volunteer" their FREE LABOUR to "charities" in return for their payments. What's the difference?
