WOW! Check out this view of the Mississippi River at the US-49 bridge. The river is down there somewhere underneath all that fog. We've got some patchy dense fog in our area too, and a freezing fog advisory is in effect for the northern half of our area until 9 AM.

Using all the tools available to us to keep up with the freezing fog this morning. I used the GOES-16 nighttime microphysics imagery this morning to point out where dense fog was forming. While it's something we don't show on TV much, it's very useful to detect fog.

Fog is starting to push in to north Columbus now. With temperatures around freezing, an isolated slick spot on a bridge or overpass can't be ruled out.

It's a cold start this morning, near freezing for most. Bundle up! The sunshine we have now will continue all day but highs will remain cool again, only in the upper 50s.

Areas of dense fog are showing up on GOES16 nighttime microphysics band, and with temperatures below freezing, that fog could deposit some ice on bridges and overpasses. Use extreme caution on the roads this morning.
