Last night, a 2nd butterfly was born. It's a boy! Elliot named him Taco. Elliot went to the park before school to release Taco today. Taco is doing well and seems happy in his new home.

The is a helpful pollinator. To woo them into The Yardley Inn garden, we planted orange butterfly weed, a native member of the milkweed family. Walk through our garden & see if you can spot a butterfly emerging from their cocoon.

Our first monarch emerged. You can tell it's a male by the two black spots on its inner wings. Had never seen the progression from caterpillar to butterfly close up before.

Probably the last monarch chrysalis of the season, warm wishes for this Monarchs safe journey to Mexico and hopefully I’ll see the Monarch’s Children or Grandchildren next summer
