On World Diabetes Day, I'm so grateful for insulin and am waiting for the day when everyone who needs it has access to it. (Video references in comments)

I bought insulin for my son in Canada today - over-the-counter, with no insurance. I paid $268 (USD) for insulin that would cost $4123 retail in the U.S. It's 15x more expensive in the U.S. 😡 Let's change this!

The words a parent of an insulin dependant type one diabetic should NEVER hear: "I don't want to get older and have to ration my insulin and die like Alec and Jesy did." He is 8. Think about that. Reread it. Call a hearing.

Feels gratifying to receive the letter from my insurance company and see highlighted that insulin is capped at $25/month in 2020. The efforts of Minnesota insulin advocates have contributed to tangible, positive change. Our voices are making a difference!

People with diabetes shouldn’t have to rally against the skyrocketing cost of insulin, hoping that it’ll help them afford the medication they need to live. It’s absurd. Know that I’m on your side, and pushing to give some much-needed relief to patients.

Leading an community event. One advocate just shared that some of her child’s first words were “ma suga lo” heartbreaking! This is why I won’t stop being an advocate!

Watch this fascinating piece that I was one of many people featured. I talk about paying for high-priced insulin and being held hostage in America.

I went to the ER too when my pump broke, but I was in Germany. The 2am visit, one pen of Novolog and Levemir, plus needles cost me €35 ($40). No insurance! I’m not kidding. I have the receipt to prove it.

Rhetorical question for the lobbyists working so hard to stop at State legislatures: if the US insulin market is so "competitive" why are 's own employees saying it is an oligarchy on anonymous boards?

I was a child when I was on those old insulins (Walmart insulin.) I had brutal hypos. At age 11, I was rushed to hospital, seizing. It took 4 doctors & 2 nurses to hold me down & get an IV in. (I cannot stand IVs to this day.) Supporting from Canada.

I’m furious that the Alec Smith Emergency Insulin Act is stalled in the State Senate. The longer it takes to provide the longer lives are at risk. you deeply care about the pain and suffering of the unborn, how about caring for the born diabetics?
