For so many weeks I didn't want to be alive anymore, but now I'm glad I'm alive and concentrating on fighting this illness. Mental health can happen to anyone and it certainly doesn't discriminate.

In truth I havn't been feeling at my best for the last few days. I have been trying to keep busy and do positive things. But I am writing this to say its OK to feel down or tired or fed up or overwhelmed. often has ups and downs and inbetweens.

Anxiety flourishes when we don't challenge our brains. An understimulated mind is a breeding ground for obsessive thoughts, phobias, and rumination. Challenge your mind: art class, listen to podcasts, write, comedy show, learn a language, join a sports league.

This year I have seen many young men in clinic suffering with depression when their relationships end. Some have lost their jobs as a result of the breakup and some are suicidal with no purpose left in life. Please be aware men are equally affected.

The love & support I've received from all you kind people has made each day, each battle that little bit easier. I know in time I'll get back to my old self I just have to keep getting through the days until things improve. Thanks to everyone who has sent me a card!

I don’t want someone who sees just the good in me. I want someone who accepts me with my flaws and sees the bad as well, and still loves me just how I am

I was in a crisis bed for nearly 2 weeks & I've been in Dewsbury District Hospital for nearly a week on a mental health ward. It hasn't been the easiest time but I know this is where I need to be for now. I promise to keep fighting & get back to good health in time.

Looking forward to a visit from my sister today. It's been over a week since seeing her. I've put her through loads of worrying nights over the last weeks. I cut my wrists, tried to hang myself and almost jumped in front of a train. It's been a traumatic few weeks.

We all face challenges in life. You can achieve many things in life despite a diagnosis and any stigma you may feel. Please know that. It may seem like an uphill battle at times, but it can be done when you refuse to give up. 🧡

Let us pay more mind to our mental health. Not just our own, but that of those immediately connected to us. Too much of everything we are and are not, begins and ends in the mind.
