4 years ago, I was admit in a psychiatric unit. Lots weren’t sure if I could continue with Med School. Now, I just got my results. I’m pleased to say that I’ll be graduating with a 1st in my intercalated BSc. So grateful to have made it this far.

As a career changer, I’ve accepted the fact that there will be a large age gap between me and my classmates. But nothing has made that gap feel as large as finding out that no one in my class remembers JNCO jeans.

I need to find sports bras that are nursing friendly and good for OMM lab. Open to any suggestions! I was told not to get racerback style.

"What do you do?" "I'm in medical school." "What kind of nurse are you gonna be?" "A doctor." I swear this happens at least once a month. But never. to. my. male. classmates.

The nerves have begun to kick in about 5th year starting tomorrow. This happens every year - I’m always scared of what to expect. It’s become my ‘normal’ since my bad experience in 1st year and I’m sick of it.

I think we need a consult here, actually. They remember this stuff because tested on it and can explain it in straightforward manner too. Why I like having a med student on the team, in the ED, wherever.

Okay I start my psychiatry clerkship soon (very first one!!). Besides UWorld, any other must have resources for the shelf? I’ve also seen Emma Holiday and FA for Psych suggested, any thoughts on those?

Build a reputation during Residency! This is done through hard work. In order to build a solid reputation try being a team player from day 1.This will carry a long way and you’ll be known as one of the strongest residents throughout training.

I can't believe 5th year starts on Monday. Mainly because the holidays were too short but also because how quickly time has flown since 1st year. Feels like yesterday I was moving into halls. Boy, I had no idea what would be in store.

I witnessed a traumatic cardiac arrest in the community yesterday. I’m only a med student, but stopped to help with CPR. We couldn’t save the patient. It’s the first death I’ve seen and I’m feeling deeply sad
