A5: in education is crucial, when you look at George Couros's 8 characteristics of an Innovator's Mindset, they are all focused around SEL skills. To have an Innovator's Mindset we must have those "soft" skills.

A2) My first yr as AP, I wanted to make every kid that came to me cry about what they had done. Quickly I learned that getting them to stop crying was much more helpful, important, and impactful for the situation. Finding the antecedent was HUGE!

A1: We're all different. We all have different needs, desires, goals. We also all have different ways of expressing our thoughts, feelings, joys and pains. SEL means to be aware of those differences and respect and honour them.
