This is Heather in memorial hall who is looking after everyone (including me with a cup of tea). Amazing community spirit by locals who have donated food, drink and places to stay for those affected by the floods.

THEN AND NOW. I took a photo of Robin Hoods Bay and later found an old photo from a very similar angle. Robin Hood’s Bay was at one time the busiest smuggling community on the Yorkshire coast.

Next stop, walk on Ilkley Moor (without hat) then down into pretty town of to visit the fab which has a huge range of books. Well worth a visit for all types of fiction, local interest, walking, plus a big sheet music section downstairs. πŸ‘

Another day another Abbey! These are the ruins of Jervaulx Abbey near Middleham. Not as extensive as some of the Yorkshire Abbey sites but worth a visit.
