28 years ago today I joined the NHS family. At 17, I wanted a job in a large and diverse industry with values which I could relate to and I found that at my local hospital. It's been an amazing journey!

Just had a follow up hearing test at the hospital. New hearing aids, adjustable to 3 settings, plus free batteries. Audiologist said her cousin in Canada would have had to pay $4000 for this, as insurance doesn't cover it.

How much would an x-ray, a CT scan, crutches and a fracture boot cost in America? Because it only cost me 3 hours of my life

A big shout out and thank you to the receptionist and nurse/radiographer at my appointment today. Only 6 mins allowed per patient but both were so friendly and lovely.

This thread. Thank you This is the reason why I will never move back to the US. I consider it a morally bankrupt society at this point, simply because there is not a universal health care service available for everyone.

Love this. I thank the NHS workers every time. Precious is the peace of mind to know that the NHS is there no matter how big or small the health issue. I love the NHS!

Most heartwarming moment of the day. Here's hoping that the likes of and all other media truly publicise this remarkable, inspirational young nurse. Terrific musical talent as well. What an angel!
