Just watched a huge European hornet buzz a few times around the pond (ID thanks to fantastic website) Meanwhile the bumblebees have discovered the poppies and robins are busy gathering breakfast for their brood.

My dog alerted me to a Roe deer fawn hiding in the undergrowth! the fawn didn't flinch, we left it alone as we could hear the mother in the distance, ahh.. ๐ŸฆŒ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ˜Š Lethen, Scotland

Likewise! Had this little bee with all the others on my Cotoneaster! His back & back of head is positively glowing & look at those pollen sacks! ๐Ÿ˜ป Never seen one of these before either, a Great Diving Beetle! Promptly taken to neighbour's pond for safety! .
