Found Crossing Souls by browsing through my Steamlibrary. Here we have pixel art style, a game set in the eighties, and cartoon like cutscenes. Works very well with the steam controller too. I played the game for 2 hours and it's nice.

I will never love work more than when I get to go in at 2am and update databases and servers. There’s something about being in a dimly lit room, with a handful of terminals open, that gives me a sense of pride. I have worked my ASS off to get here.
