We just lit the final candle to affirm the last principle, Imani in Swahili=Faith. It also happens to be our Cora's middle name. I do believe the 7th principle is critical to the practice of all others. Belief in our Creator, our people, & our victory is essential.

Curwen's Year 2 performed what they have learnt about Kwanzaa through songs and a story that had a message about working together as a team. Parents really enjoyed this as many said they had not heard of Kwanzaa before so they learnt something new!'

I've really appreciated the way my family was more intentional about this year. We faced some hard truths, dreamed a little, and spent the mornings just connecting to one another. It's been refreshing. Thanks for joining us!

Kuumba; & the knowledge that survival conditions our creative genius. Only a great people can be thrown from their homes & make families in the ashes, face police brutality & vogue in defiance. Black & queer is a dilemma that we turn into fashion.

This last day of  I want to lift up . Personally, her work on the life of Sadie Alexander is what I like most (I’m biased). Did you know Sadie executed a household survey for her dissertation? Thanks to Nina, we won’t lose this important intellectual history.
