Koshu Valley 16h
Is Japanese suited to aging? Our recommendation says it is. 10-year-old ‘Maruki Koshu Vintage 2009’ has developed a gorgeous golden hue with the honeyed, nutty tones to match.

The phenomenal Weeping Cherry of Otsukazuma stands high in the north of the wine region, gazing across to Mt. Fuji. And I suspect Fuji is gazing right back.

When you’re at a dinner and you hear the unmistakable sound of walking in, you know you’re in for some shit hot wines! “Gris De Gris” from , kept its lightness and Asian citrus, with a sherry nuttiness too, weird but bloody wonderful 😜🥂

Anyone else curious as to how these koshu might taste? Nada’s has sakes going back the 1940’s in their museum. If you find yourself in Kobe, it’s worth the trip to visit + quite easy to get to by train. #古酒#sakuramasamune

A Japanese made with a local grape variety This is a fruit-forward wine, citrusy with nuances of herbs and bee-wax. In palate is bone-dry with crisp acidity and long length. Magrez-Aruga Koshu 2013 Isehara 🇯🇵
