In light of the recent deaths of and , mental health is at the forefront of the thoughts of many. I myself struggle with anxiety and depression, along with ADHD, and have many challenges because of it.

I heard some insensitive comments about and . They said "must be so hard having all that money".....I can assure you, mental illness does not discriminate & no one is immune. Money does not buy happiness.

The recent, sudden losses of both and is a reminder that if someone has had a positive impact on your life - big or small - let them know. And make sure they really hear you. Let them know they matter.

I think Coach should run a promo: for the next month all purchases from the Kate Spade line should have a significant percent donated to mental health awareness/services. It would be a great way to honor Kate Spade, raise awareness and a strong PR move for Coach

A message on to anyone who’ll listen: Don’t assume high functioning people are struggling less with mental illness. The tragic passing of & shows that you can function day to day AND be in crisis. Don’t make assumptions. Be kind. Lend an ear.

My news feed of the last 72hrs has me wondering: When are we going to wake up to the fact that suicide is the terminal outcome of illness, and warrants being declared a public health crisis with all the resources we can muster to fight this epidemic?

My grief is for Ariane Bourdain & Frances Spade. THEY'RE the ones who've been saddled with a lifetime of sadness. & appear to have merely had kids to validate themselves & make themselves feel better. Nothing is more self-centered & selfish than that.
