Lets bring back the hat into . There was a time when you couldn’t negotiate for Ireland without a great hat. Then somewhere in the 1940’s that all went out the window. Why? (LtoR..Childers/Griffith/Plunkett/Dev/Barton-1921)

Came across this gem today. The 1847 Lives of Illustrious Irishmen features Sir Boyle, with reservations. Interesting to see that there were political speech writers in the old Irish Parliament quotes include 'Half the lies our opponents tell of us are untrue'

Shane Ross’s litany of gaffes might be funny if it weren’t for the fact that he is an elected representative, on a salary of €94,000+. Embracing his own incompetence in the hope that it will be seen as an endearing quality is quite sad.
