Getting started with io_uring for sockets for seastar. Good that I am doing this per-merge of the storage bits, because some design decisions will have to change to accommodate both more elegantly. Soon seastar will need only one system call

How to achieve context-switch-free async I/O à la , on ? Could kqueue support an optional user space output queue? For the request side, I wonder if a new aio multiple-request syscall called from a user thread might be about as good as what io_uring does.

I did some digging around mongodb and found a way to use LSM trees as an underlying data structure. Got better results. With it, mongodb ran for ~38h. Also did some work on to level out update response spikes.
