Angus Robertson May 24
Dear Scotland, We are now facing Boris Johnson as Prime Minister and hard Brexit despite not voting for either. Is this as good as it gets? The UK is broken and failing. It's time for Scottish independence.

In 2014, Scotland were told the only way we could stay in EU was to vote No. In 2016, Scotland voted decisively to Remain in EU. In 2019, as England & Wales confirm Brexit intent, Scots have voted even more decisively for Remain parties. We’re a different country.

I’m putting this out there now. If Scotland voted to remain by 62% If the SNP a remain party wins every/majority of local authority regions in the EU elections If UK still leaves he EU Scotland must have immediately

I'm a Scot. I can't live a life worried about the shadow cast by the decisions of the English electorate. If they want Tories, and those Tories want Boris, so be it. Scotland has a right to reach for the door and say "This is not our path to tread. We choose another."

This is a stark illustration of the radically different political trajectories of & England. Civic internationalism v isolationist nationalism. It’s unconscionable that shd continue to refuse the means to self determination .

Here you have it folks. Nicola Sturgeon would still be plotting even if Britain stayed in the EU. In the event that one excuse to break up Britain is removed, the SNP will always invent another. Scotland deserves better.

Once again these election results make me proud to be from a forward thinking, politically tolerant, pro-remain nation that is Scotland, and despair at being part of this cursed union.

There’s nothing for in Theresa May's 10 point offer. So I asked her now that her days of sneering at Scotland’s elected reps are nearly at an end does she agree that her successor will need a more intelligent approach to ?

Sturgeon has used Brexit as an excuse for pursuing for the past three years. In tomorrow's elections we need to send her a message.
