In terms of ACE, the 2019 Atlantic pushed above the average value over the past 50 years back on September 2 and never fell behind after that, despite 7 of the 17 named storms lasting a day or less. Dorian & Lorenzo kicked in 64% of the season's total ACE so far.

So far this , there was a single hurricane for just six hours in the entire Caribbean Sea AND Gulf of Mexico (Barry when it made landfall in LA). A weird void of hurricane activity.
