I'm building a new project. not classes sounds like the best way to go. Where can I find code that demonstrates building an entire application with "hooks not classes"? Ideally a "small but complete" project.

I love writing Hooks in React, but… You start with some seemingly beautiful code, and it ends up either littered with `useMemo`s and `useCallback`s or it returns things that cause unnecessary renders.

Anybody know of a way to do shallow rendering in tests for react hooks? I like shallow rendering, but both react-testing-library and react-dom's act() seem to require full dom rendering?

All the blogs out their that still say something in the lines of "hooks are not production ready yet...", need an update by their mindful authors who believed in its potential and cared to include that in first place.

One reason I was not using functional components was lack of ability to short circuit render based on props. Is there a way to do this now with hooks? I know state changes with hooks can be short circuited, but what about props?

Oh man. Hooks are ❤️ I love how it immediately reduces the number of lines of code significantly without losing any performance optimizations or classes (previously needed for lifecycle methods) specific stuff, so far. I've only used it for few things as of now.
