Our 126 almost hit a scooter at 8:15 this morning. Pulling into bus lane at 8th Street and scooter suddenly passed the bus on the right. Driver said he can’t see them coming up on the right. Passenger: “It’s only a matter of time.”

Instead of debating each other on scooters, residents should come together and ask why they rolled out a program that's "inviting disaster" without any real enforcement. We can have scooters and real regulation put in place for offenders:

So I read through this. For dream street-69% want bike lanes & 67% want parking. Top 3 priorities were safety, parking and street trees. My point is that we need a plan that addresses all of these, not just one of these. Hoping you support that.

It would be great if the council were as energetic about implemented Protected Bike Lanes as they are about banning scooters. But sadly some on this current council haven’t prioritized & taken action on the safety of vulnerable road users.

Electric scooters DO NOT belong on sidewalks. Pedestrians do not belong walking on roadways. Cars do not belong on sidewalks, bus stops, storefronts. Growing safety & well-being of any community begins & ends with the law enforcement, citizen awareness & evolution. 1/3

2/2 I was surprised many on our twitter group didn't attend. As we continue to evaluate the program, input from everyone is critical so we can decide how best to make EScooters work for , or not. So please keep voicing your opinions - for or against. More voices matter.
