Top 3 tips for companies looking to engage with patients: 1) Ask up front what a vendor's patient readiness is, what effort is required of the patient to get connected--forms, apps or software to download and set up, etc. 2) Plan privacy/security diligently 3) Test, esp UX #HITsm

T4: Another aspect of this privacy question is "how does my digital identity get matched for authentication/authorization to data and for data resolution purposes (finding my chart)", another nut to crack...some good work on that in ONC's FAST, Carequality, HL7 #HITsm

T4: This is a huge question so to answer generally I think we will find ways to scale new PGD data sets and use cases for collaboration on them in parallel and alongside emerging data transfer modalities (both communication + exchange of PHI) other over the next few years #HITsm

#HITsm What happens most often these days is an email or a text that has a link to a secure #patientPortal. Unfortunately the #usability of most portals is less than optimal (Trying to be nice!) and the patient give up, and just calls on the phone
