Lovely surprise from my little people this morning- a framed photo of them for my desk so I “don’t miss them too much” and a cactus for my office because I’ll be “too busy to look after plants”. Almost ready for day 1 of Headship tomorrow

I think today was the toughest day so far on my Headship journey. A choice between the Headteacher YOU want to be, and the Headteacher your school needs. Sometimes these are not the same & we have to remember our purpose is to serve, not promote our own agenda

I realised what my mentors and coaches have been getting me to see and work on even more after today. My story is so much a part of me living in my truth as my authentic self. Vulnerable but okay with that. Loving every mistake, scar, battle, fear and success.

It's Sunday at 5.30pm and unlike millions of other people (sadly), I do not have that sinking back to work feeling. When you love your job, Mondays are pretty great. My job for the next few years is to make sure every child and adult in my school feels the same

A great day at the LAAT headteachers' day today. Headship can be a lonely job at times, but being part of something bigger than your own school makes a big difference. Wonderful to meet so many like-minded leaders and to establish some new connections for our school
