The Piece Hall’ in by John Wilson Anderson(1798–1851). Rightly claimed to be one of the country’s ‘finest buildings’ the Piece Hall dates to around 1799. It is a cloth hall where handloom weavers would have brought their pieces of woollen fabric to sell.
