Last week I walked most of seeing many wildflowers, but two stand-out species were: Cottongrass (Eriophorum angustifolium) - many clumps in clear-felled wood & Water Avens (Geum rivale) - multi-plant colony alongside the Vindolanda access lane.

Done it yesterday! Completed last leg from Carlisle to Bowness on Solway in a Force 7 wind (sunny and dry, though!). All 18 walkers very happy, now dispersing back home with several taking in sites not visited on the way.
