here. "More than" if you intend to say for a period of time longer than. "Over" if the action was happening over the course of that time period. Otherwise "over" is a location adjective, not an amount.

[Seriously, though, I get the advice. There are so many brilliant descriptions encapsulated in single words to choose from. But risking the erasure of an entire part of speech from the language by imitation? Give me a break. Adverbs serve a purpose also. ]
