The flock flew, landed short, so had to swim back to the beach. Very cute swimmers. Never seen that before (no pic, was busy watching, not filming, as I love to see them fly).

Bar-tailed on Beach, Lower , New Zealand. These guys fly 12,000km non-stop from Alaska or further north to summer in NZ. Migration takes them 6 to 8 days - they arrive exhausted.

En there he/she goes! Running into a herby meadow where she hides very well in this colourful environment. If all meadows looked as this one there will be less problems for them
