I currently teach a Y10 student who, 2 years ago, would find it difficult to communicate with me at all. Today, he did an extended talk on a topic close to his heart for his spoken language assessment. Iβ€˜m so proud. This is why I am a teacher.

I always think sunny Easter weekends are a missed opportunity when it comes to Teacher recruitment: Enjoyed the sun this weekend? Not looking forward to Tuesday morning? Imagine knowing that your next paid holiday was just a few weeks away.

Teachers work really hard but, in a great school, you can do it, love it, and have a life. Proof: in last 2 weeks I’ve been to 2 gigs, a wrestling show, Download festival, & a hen do with a zombie party, raft building, & a 70s murder mystery night. πŸ₯‚πŸ•Ίβ˜ οΈπŸ‘Œ

So pleased, I mean really, really chuffed, to have had a great session today on one of two final PGCE essays. The wood is emerging from the trees.

The hardest part when you leave the job you love so much is the β€œGoodbyes”. Today my students reminded me the reason I choose to be teacher. It’s the impact and the relationship that you build with the students. Love the messages.

Not that there is such a thing as a typical day when you're a teacher but I'm going to tweet my day tomorrow so if anyone is interested in what a teacher's day might look like or to see how varied our days can be, it'll be all on my timeline πŸ‘©β€πŸ«
