Thanks for sharing this. Mentorship and Sponsorship are different and both are needed to progress . Women are more likely to be receive mentorship than sponsorship and sponsorship has been shown to improve career outcomes

This is a really important distinction to make . Programs to encourage and support sponsoring for do exist, and we can also use this framing to clarify whether we need (or need to be) a mentor, a sponsor, or both.
