When I lived in Zurich, I learned that Swiss women didn't get the right to vote until 1971 & needed permission from their husbands to work or open a bank account until 1985! Switzerland still lags on many gender equality issues. Kudos to those demanding better.

Women in Switzerland fighting for equality and respect. A lot of families in the street, grandmas, children, husbands supporting wives. Complete heterogeneous environment full of hope, support and energy. Nothing comes for free, fight like a girl!

“The culture of sexism is part of everyday life in Switzerland.”🇨🇭 It’s so sad to me that the beautiful country I grew up in—perfect in so many ways—persists in ignoring such a massive human issue. It’s unacceptable and has to change.

We believe in the crucial and positive impact women have on societies and we believe in women’s right to freely choose how to participate in these societies. However, that right is still not a reality. We stand behind the women of 🇨🇭on today’s Women’s Strike.
