No, the doesn't end family separation, it is just creating the option of detaining children in jail indefinitely, but then only if Trump can kill a 20 year old settlement agreement () that protects migrant children in detention. Both options hurt kids.

1/ The Decision currently governs the imprisonment of immigrant families, and that settlement only allows for 20-days of internment of the family, tomorrow The AG will attempt to vacate this decision and intern families for as long as they want.

Folks asserting Trump's does nothing are incorrect. It does something really vital: it vitiates , which limited detention to 20 days. It can now be indefinite. Keep calling your reps.

- my bet is that the gap between ICE and HHS is so large that these kids will NEVER be re-united with their parents who many have already been deported. Do you think anyone will bother to look for them?

.'s EO keeps families together during processing. I GUARANTEE the left will sue for violating the day 1 child is detained for more than 20 days. They will stop at nothing short of open borders.

A deeply disturbing interview by on just now with Atty Peter Schey, the lead lawyer for the plaintiffs in class action, reporting that kids who have been separated from their parents are “in extreme distress,” to the point of being suicidal. 🤬😢😢

You take credit for everything and responsibility for nothing. If there’s one thing you can unflaggingly take complete credit for is your ability to sell yourself. The problem, though, is that it’s all facade with scant substance.

Trump EO not needed. Designed to pitch legal battle over settlement. Daring courts to allow him to resume family separation

This. Is. Chilling. 👇🏻. The government has asked for the detention facilities to be EXEMPT from state regulations and basically have free reign with no oversight. I mentioned yesterday the end game was overturning and here’s the start. NFW SHOULD THIS HAPPEN!

There is no good outcome. Either Trump will continue separating children from parents or Congress will terminate by legislation after which families will remain together... in detention and until they win their case or are deported.

Indefinitely detaining families together in cages is not the solution to children being detained alone in cages. Trump’s executive order is inhumane and it violates existing law.

That said didn’t count on several things: 1) The isn’t going away 2) His EO, meant for their detriment has just become his thorn. Families won’t be separated which means according to If children can’t be held longer than 20 days he will have

The by does not discuss family reunification measures. It also seeks to extend the amount of days children can be detained in immigrant detention to more than 20 days. Don't be fooled by this 🤡 📷 by
