Research by David Thomas found that intensive lowers the magnesium content of carrots by up to 75%. So 1 organic carrot grown on good, nurtured contains as much magnesium as 3 intensively farmed carrots. So they may cost more ... but you don't need as many.

In my travels today I witnessed 2 farm truck and trailer units blow stop signs. Too much of a hurry. If you hit hurt someone you could lose the farm. What's the point!
