More images of from : besides the one of the LMC with SN1987A, an image the "galactic ridge" measuring about 20 square degrees and including more than 1000 X-ray sources has been published, as well as a collage of images of the central zone of the Galaxy.

After sooo many years of delays it feels like some fairy tale ... by according to the Russian astronomy satellite is actually going to the launch site tomorrow, with lift-off still set for 21 June. Big German X-ray telescope inside!

Why am I so excited about ? 3 Million AGN, 100k galaxy clusters, as many new X-ray sources as have ever been known until now, this will be a new map of the X-ray Universe! Great moment in German-Russian astronomy!
