Mothers can EGYPT: A while back, Ashgan's husband had a quarrel with her when he discovered she wasn't circumcised. He began to beat her but she fled to her mom’s home, thinking she'll be safe. Her mom called a doctor to forcefully circumcise her; he INJURED her genitals!

We also held a community baraza with residents of Kapsowar, Marakwet West which is a FGM hotspot in the county on the dangers of FGM and need to embrace Alternative Rites of Passage for girls to protect them from the cut.

Disgusting... "It needs to be done for her to enter Islam". Islam has a lot to answer for!!! It promotes (makes honourable) the mutilation of genitals of both girls and boys. Please let children decide for themselves when they are mature.
