Portugal is doing great. The advice on economic policy from the EU was right. Very competitive, low costs, positive growth, decreasing unemployment rate. The cure advised by the EU has proven to be the right policy.

The U.S. job loss in the steel industry is caused by efficiency. The number of employees at the country’s iron and steel mills has tumbled 53 per cent since 1990, to 87,700 in November 2018. The U.S. steel production dropped only 2.2 per cent in the same period.
