One of the questions we've been asked as part of is 'What does discipleship look like - has anyone got some creative ideas outside 'ordinary church services'?' We know you guys out there are doing this! Could you share with us so we can pass it on?

Burdened by report to SBC: Southern Baptists baptized 7.1 mil in last 20 years but lost 20,000 in avg weekly worship attendance. The back door is wide open in our churches. We can get people to make a decision, but we struggle with getting them engaged.

I don't deserve to handle these young men but God is truly gracious to allow me to share encouragement & impart biblical lessons to them. 😊 I'm excited to witness what the Lord has in store in your lives & in your campus. More unliwings to come. ❤️

Ever feel responsible for how others behave or respond to life? Passionate about making others believe differently? Stop. They get to choose their thoughts. You need to focus on you and be the best you can be. This is the heart of true influence.

"If we were willing to learn the meaning of real discipleship and actually to become disciples, the church in the West would be transformed and the resultant impact on society would be staggering." -- David Watson

I used to think discipleship was about me teaching others what I know about Jesus. Now I’m learning that discipleship is about teaching people to follow Jesus.

", as it's currently done in evangelical churches…is connecting people in small groups, getting them giving and getting them serving…but…it’s not the kind of discipleship that’s going to change people long term." –Peter Scazzero

God doesn't need us to be perfect parents. All he needs are people who are willing to humble themselves, repent, and run to Jesus. When we have hearts ready to make changes and start following God's design for our lives, he is more than capable of doing the rest.

Christian parents, how are we doing? Have we bought the lie that happiness and satisfaction are found in the things the world offers rather than God? Have we modeled this lifestyle to our kids?

Christian parents, how are we doing? Do our children see us trying to live out God’s Word faithfully? Do they see us fleeing temptation and sin? Do they see us unaffected by money, fame or possessions? Do our kids see us living for others rather than ourselves?

If they don't want to stay with you anymore, then learn to let go. Just accept the truth that you don't own them.

Christian parents, how are we doing? Do our children see our love for God’s Word? Do we talk about it often? Do we open it up daily? Do we search its pages for guidance and wisdom? Do we read the Bible with them? Do we spend time talking to them about it?
