One year ago today I got a letter. It said I'd won my case appealing for SSDI. A year ago, my life changed. isn't a living wage, but it has made my life a bit easier. I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm proudly & I fight every day to survive & pay it forward.

students should not have to hope for basic accommodations like they're a lottery ticket. BYU, do better than this.

Your government does not to decide if you are or part of this community. The criteria to receive in any country is inherently ableist and tight so that money can be put in politician's pockets. You decide if you are part of this community. No one else. ♿💪

Ask yourself, how can go anywhere or do anything without access? Should we pay for the construction of a parallel universe out of pocket? Without jobs? Should we beg for charity & happily take what may/not be given?

Any fellow folks have any tips for traveling to a different country? I cannot survive a Customs line, but I'm not sure how to deal with that in a different country (Spain).

You know how the abled world loves those "inspiring" stories of "bravery" from disabled people? Here's one .. I sleep, not only with feet out of the covers, but often off the edge of the bed.. (Nods bravely) What's your inspiring tale of bravery?

I was putting the sheets back on our bed the other day and my heart rate hit 158. I’m no doctor but I don’t think that’s okay. Came close to passing out, luckily I kept it together.

How would you respond to a disabled person that posts on purpose and says things like "I don't have a disability, I have a gift. Others may see it as a disability, but I see it as a challenge" ???

pass, to give me a leg up, you step over me, on me, through me. And in this way, the simplest and most repeated act by ableds against the represents a symptom of a larger problem: Society steps over, on, and through us in every aspect and at every turn. Do better (15

Dear abled body ppl, When a disabled person refers to oneself as disabled don't think you're doing us a solid by suggesting or asking if what we "really mean" or "should use" is "differently abled" No I said disabled I meant disabled I'm it's not a dirty word.

overlook not having a pass because you already have one 2 hours from then for another ride. When it's busy? They stop caring to overlook the rules for legitimately folks. Meanwhile, the able bodied can enter any line they wish at any time whilst also possessing (12
